The Long Night That Lies Ahead

And once again you've found me
In the only way that you can
You've swallowed all my thoughts
And now you're drowning all my senses
And you gradually surround me
As I dance beside McGahan
In this pyrotechnic paradise
You're perfectly relentless

You're simply irresistible
And I answer every one of your calls
It's momentary madness, but I'm aware of this
And I'm a man on a mission
You grab my hair without a care
And we thrust against a wall, and another wall
And with animal exuberance
We release all inhibitions

And it's the long night that lies ahead
An hour's gone, and now it's started
It's far too long since you departed
It's the long night that lies ahead
And you've left me broken and empty
And so depressed

Instinctively inseparable
I'm enthralled within you, and your existence
You lead me down to a darkened room
And we kiss
Increasingly irreparable
I'm in awe even though you're destroying me
For as long as I can remember
I've never felt like this

And it's the long night that lies ahead
An hour's gone, and now it's started
It's far too long since you departed
It's the long night that lies ahead
And you've left me broken and empty
And so depressed

And the room is cold and far too bright
And I'm slowly drifting through the night
Constantly awaken by the aching in my chest
I stare up at the empty ceiling, body starts to drain of feeling
But somehow that's much better than it was before
I wish my mind would do the same
Instead it's screaming out her name:
I simply can't forget her, the woman I adore
And there's not much more of this that I can take
I'm far too scared to simply stay awake
And I'm deafened by the sound of nothing whatsoever
Feeling null, and void, and petrified, and paranoid
For as long as I can remember
I've never felt like this
And I never want to feel like this again

And it's the long night that lies ahead
An hour's gone, and now it's started
It's far too long since you departed
It's the long night that lies ahead
And you've left me broken and empty
And so depressed

Three More Days

Now I've never been the kind of guy to introduce or even try
But then I saw you and I don't know why, but I changed
And then my confidence was captured with spontaneous suggestion
And all I had to do was go and ask a simple question
But the words were proving difficult to find, difficult to find...

And I'd barely had the time to think
Well should we go for a dance, or a quiet drink?
A romantic meal, and maybe flowers?
And I was left with seconds but I needed hours
And so I rise above my seat, and my palms start to sweat
And my heart skips four beats, and then her eyes met
Oh no...I'd better go over and talk to her!

And I know we've never met and I'm frantic
But hey, I'm just trying to be romantic
I got this funny feeling, d'ya fancy drinks tomorrow evening?
Yeah, there's simply nothing more to say
I'm only here for three more days
Yeah, tomorrow evening, what d'ya say?
'cause I'm only here for three more days

And so I try and search for signs, and think of words I should have said
And now the question's gone, and the lines they just keep running through my head
And she glances down then looks around and meets me in the eye
We share a smile, it's all worthwhile, I've given her my reply
Oh yeah...I'm gonna keep-on talking to her!

And I know we've never met and I'm frantic
But hey, I'm just trying to be romantic
I got this funny feeling, d'ya fancy drinks tomorrow evening?
Yeah, there's simply nothing more to say
I'm only here for three more days
Pretty soon, yeah, I'll be on my way
'cause I'm only here for three more days

And now you're sat beside me on a Friday evening
In two days time, girl, I'm gonna be leaving
And there's simply nothing more to say, I really wish that I could stay
But I simply can't stay, no I can't stay...

And I know we've never met and I'm frantic
But hey, I'm just trying to be romantic
I got this funny feeling, d'ya fancy drinks tomorrow evening?
Yeah, there's simply nothing more to say
I really wish that I could stay
Perhaps we'll meet again one day
And maybe that's the only way
